Penny and Tony Varney's studio is a collaboration of two distinct art forms--Penny's handmade jewellery and Tony's photography. Penny's first love is design and she creates original custom jewellery in silver, gold or niobium. She sometimes uses precious and semi-precious gems in her work and will often incorporate a geometric or abstract motif in her wearable art. Tony's photographs are an eclectic mix of his travels in Asia, Western Scotland, Bahamas and Muskoka. Tony was one of the first Westerners to photograph the monasteries in the Himalayas and his photographs reflect his love of the old Buddhist kingdoms. The colours, culture and people of exotic destinations such as Tibet and the Middle East are beautifully displayed in his gallery. |
